Battery-powered Digital Matter Hawk data loggers, delivering 2–6 years of operation depending on transmission intervals.
Continuous monitoring enabled early detection of anomalous pressure behaviour, supporting proactive leak identification.
Remote access to pressure modelling allowed SES Water to extend network coverage, optimise resource use, and reduce response times.
Hubit supported SES Water in advancing their approach to mainline pressure monitoring with a scalable, integrated IoT deployment.
Digital Matter Hawk loggers were selected for their low-power operation and robust cellular connectivity. These were paired with custom push-fit pressure sensors, selected for infrastructure compatibility and reliable data transmission. While the communication method between sensor and logger was optimised to ensure system performance.
Rather than focusing solely on pressure drops, the system tracks pressure trends over time by enabling a pattern-based analysis and comparisons across sites. Data is transmitted via API into SES Water’s existing platform. While technology delivers both hardware and software, Hubit’s role was to introduce a more flexible, alternative approach focused on integration and scalability.
This successful deployment provides a proven framework for wider rollout, enabling more accurate monitoring, early detection, and data-led operational decision-making.
Designed for longevity and low maintenance, Hawk loggers and sensors deliver reliable field operation for up to six years.
Real-time alerts and cloud-based modelling enable SES Water to scale monitoring coverage while significantly reducing the need for manual site visits.
