eInk is a low power technology which benefits from not having a backlight. Unlike LCD, the image is viewed by light hitting the front surface and generally the brighter the lighting the better it looks. Not having a backlight means there is no energy consumed in running the display, and once an image update has taken place, power can be removed from the display and the image is retained. Image refresh rates vary across the technology however are slower than LCD so the technology ideally suits static images.
Our colour products have two CMS options, the first and the preferred is to use an external media player where the image from the media player is automatically captured by the screen’s inbuilt android board. The second is to port with ours and the CMS companies support their application onto the inbuilt board.
