A specialist water hygiene contractor required a more efficient way to manage Legionella compliance across a growing portfolio of residential and commercial buildings. Their existing approach relied on scheduled site visits to manually measure water temperatures at calorifiers, cold water tanks, and sentinel outlets. While effective for periodic checks, this model created operational pressure as the client base expanded and left potential compliance gaps between inspections.
Hubit designed and deployed a fully wireless monitoring system to provide continuous visibility of water temperatures across each building. Using low-power LoRaWAN connectivity, sensors transmit temperature data to a cloud platform accessible through a real-time dashboard. The system continuously monitors key assets and records temperature readings automatically, providing accurate and consistent monitoring without increasing operational workload.
Multiple LoRaWAN gateways were deployed to ensure reliable coverage across plant rooms, storage tanks, and outlets throughout each building. Automated alerts trigger when temperatures move outside safe thresholds, enabling rapid response while maintaining continuous compliance with HSG274 Part 2.
All readings are securely logged to the cloud, creating a complete and auditable compliance record. The system reduces manual inspections, improves operational efficiency, and allows the contractor to scale monitoring across a larger building portfolio.
